The soft tissue of the body refers to muscles, tendons, ligaments and fascia. Myotherapists will assess and treat pain and dysfunction in the body based on the effect these tissues have on patients presenting concerns or injuries; and also the effect that these presenting concerns or injuries may have on the soft tissue.
Treatment is directed towards the tissue structures to ensure that muscle quality is maintained to allow for optimal movement and function while aiding in pain relief and correcting body dysfunction which may be preventing the recovery of an injury. Myotherapy treatment can be effective at any stage of a concern or injury, be it corrective, rehabilitative, or preventative.
What is Myotherapy?
Myotherapy is a form of manual therapy used to assess and treat muscular injury and dysfunction.
At Be Active Myotherapy, we use myotherapy treatments to decrease pain and improve physical mobility, helping you improve muscular strength, encourage flexibility, and correct body functioning.
It involves an extensive physical evaluation and an integrated therapeutic approach in the treatment of affected muscles, joints, connective tissues and nerves.
